So 2D has been acting weirdly and uncharacteristically confident lately as seen in their latest interview and the Humility music video. Well what do both of these times we’ve seen 2D have in common? He’s wearing headphones in both of them

I don’t think this is coincidental. In the interview, 2D is described as being ‘in some sort of yogic trance’ until he takes the earphones out. Similarly, 2D is confident and very talented on his rollerskates in the Humility video until Russel trips him up and in doing so, knocks 2D’s headphones off, which is when we see his eyes revert back to black and suddenly he can’t skate anymore.

In fact, in this screenshot, just before his eyes turn black, his white eyes arguably look as if they are glowing, as if he is under some sort of spell. Also, notice how each time 2D removes his headphones, Russel has something to do with it, as if he knows something isn’t right here.

So here’s the conclusion I’m coming to: Whatever 2D is listening to in these headphones is putting him under some kind of trance, making him uncharacteristically cockey and confident, Russel seems to know these headphones are affecting him and takes whatever chance he gets to remove them. I’m not sure what or who 2D is listening to in his headphones but part of me thinks it may have something to do with Murdoc being in jail or maybe even Ace. But who knows for sure.
