Homestucks are like “let’s use all the typing quirks at once, ha ha”, and it’s still not as bad as the way Internet users circa 1998 actually talked.

Well now I’m curious as to what an example would be cause it had to be a disaster so beautiful it would rip my mind asunder.

Here’s the original post re-written in a form of leet that was popular around the period in question:

|-|0|\/|357|_|({<5 4|23 |_1|<3 |_375 |_|53 4|_|_ 7|-|3 7`/91|\|6 0~|_|1|2|<5 47 0|\|(3 4|\||) 175 571|_|_ |\|07 45 |34|) 45 7|-|3 \/\/4`/ 1|\|73|2|\|37 |_|53|25 (1|2(4 1998 4(7|_|4|_|_`/ 74|_|<3|)

Bear in mind that this is a relatively mild example of the type; for the sake of readability I haven’t used any jargon or intentional misspellings, and the orthography is inauthentically consistent throughout; in practice, it was common for fluent leet-speakers to use varying substitutions for the same letter in the space of a single message, and often even in the space of a single word.

It’s 2020 i shouldn’t have to emotionally deal with seeing leetspeak, okay

Leetspeak is a valuable skill, because theres no better way to come up with a secure password you can actually remember, especially now that websites are requiring special characters
